Discover Tokyo Through Its Food & Nature
TASTE of TOKYO 2026 is a food festival celebrating dishes made with Tokyo-grown ingredients, along with the rich culture behind them. Designed to bring energy to the city through food, the event attracted around 160,000 visitors in 2025 across four main areas in Tokyo—Marunouchi, Yurakucho, Hibiya, and Toyosu.
While Tokyo is known as one of the world’s largest cities, it’s also blessed with diverse natural landscapes. The farmland of the Tama Region (western Tokyo’s agricultural heartland), the forests of Okutama (a mountainous area rich in nature), and the waters of Tokyo Bay and the Izu Islands (remote islands in the Pacific) all produce fresh, high-quality ingredients.
At this festival, you can learn about, taste, and explore Tokyo’s unique food culture and the industries behind it through a wide variety of experiences.
Taste Your Way Across Tokyo’s City Districts
The festival takes place across multiple areas: Marunouchi (Tokyo’s central business district), Yurakucho (a lively dining and entertainment hub), Hibiya (known for culture, parks, and theaters), and Toyosu (a waterfront area famous for its market and food scene). Visitors can explore each neighborhood and experience different sides of Tokyo’s culinary culture. In Marunouchi, Hibiya, and Yurakucho, event venues collaborate with nearby restaurants and commercial facilities to offer special menus and limited-time experiences.
Popular restaurants and renowned chefs will present exclusive dishes created just for the festival. As you stroll through these sophisticated urban areas, you can sample and compare dishes featuring Tokyo-grown ingredients such as fresh vegetables and seafood—an experience unique to this event. Meanwhile, the Toyosu area focuses on hands-on, interactive experiences centered around agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. Here, you can explore the story behind Tokyo’s food with a closer look at how it’s produced.
This year's event will feature the following:
- Food trucks offering special menu items by renowned chefs who are Tokyo Tourism Ambassadors and participants in the Tokyo Tokyo Delicious Museum
- Food trucks and tents showcasing Tokyo's local cuisine
- A market selling agricultural produce and specialties from Tokyo
- Sales of local sake and regional specialties from all over Japan
Experience the Connection Between Food and Its Producer
The appeal of this event is that you can not only taste the deliciousness of Tokyo-grown ingredients, but also discover the background of how they are grown and brought to your table.
Many producers from Tokyo’s farms, forests, and seas will be on-site—so take the opportunity to connect with them. From tips on how to prepare vegetables to advice on selecting the best ingredients, their insights can enrich your everyday meals long after your visit.
TASTE of TOKYO 2026 is your chance to experience the flavors of Tokyo, shaped by its natural environment and the passion of its producers. Come discover a new side of Tokyo through food.
