100 Specialty Food and Retail Vendors Gather in One Place

Held at Shiokaze Park in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Vege Life is an immersive event that brings people together through food, music, and community. Now in its fourth year, the event features the theme "Enjoy Local Food and Living." Around 100 vendors from across Japan will take part, offering carefully selected foods made with quality ingredients and thoughtful production methods, while also showcasing the appeal of fresh vegetables and locally grown produce. The Food Area features restaurants and food trucks serving dishes made with local ingredients, seasonal vegetables, organic produce, and more. Visitors can enjoy a diverse range of cuisines, from vegan dishes and spice-infused fare to authentic Mexican food, craft burgers, and sweets. In the Farmers’ Area, producers sell their harvests directly, offering visitors the chance to take home freshly picked vegetables and fruit. The Processed Goods and Marché Area also features additive-free foods, seasonings, and a variety of lifestyle goods designed to enrich everyday life. There’s plenty of entertainment, too, with live performances by popular artists and a full lineup of stage events. With something for everyone, Vege Life is an inviting event for younger visitors and families alike.

A Place Where People Come Together in an Open, Welcoming Setting

Vege Life was created with the goal of helping more people discover the appeal of agriculture and food. More than just a market, the event places great importance on bringing people together and connecting producers with consumers. By sharing the passion of each vendor, their connection to the local community, and the stories behind their products, Vege Life aims to create a place where people can make new connections, discover something new, and enjoy meaningful interactions. This philosophy is embodied in the tent space created by hitoto-ai, a group based in Awaji Island, using wood and rope. Designed to reflect a harmonious relationship with nature and the warmth of a community that brings people together, the space naturally encourages visitors to strike up conversations and share a relaxed moment together, serving as a place where people can come together. In the Dining Area and Farmers’ Area, visitors can chat directly with restaurant staff and producers, learning more about their products, recommended ways to enjoy them, and the care that goes into their cultivation. These conversations offer a deeper appreciation of the food and the people behind it. Come and enjoy the unique gourmet experience that only Vege Life can offer.

Workshops for Kids

For those with children, we recommend the free workshops led by a nursery school principal and the use of the kids' space. While children take part in activities and play, parents can explore the market and enjoy the live performances, giving everyone in the family a chance to make the most of their time at the event. Vege Life is also popular with international visitors. In the Food Area, vendors serve dishes made with fresh, locally grown vegetables, regional agricultural products, and other local ingredients, offering an easy way to experience Japan’s seasonal flavors and food culture. Visitors can also chat directly with producers and vendors as they browse and choose what to buy, creating opportunities for warm, personal interactions. From food and music to the flavors of nature, Vege Life offers a unique way to experience everyday life and culture in Japan and create lasting memories of your trip to Tokyo.
