Held in Munich, Germany, for more than 200 years, Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival. Oktoberfest 2026 in Shiba Park is an event where you can fully experience the atmosphere of this iconic celebration alongside the unique character of Tokyo. The event began in May 2003 in Hibiya, Tokyo, under the name German Fest. It has since become a beloved autumn tradition in Tokyo, and is now held at Shiba Park, an oasis in the heart of the city. With Tokyo Tower rising nearby, visitors can enjoy draft beers imported directly from German breweries, along with traditional German cuisine. The festival also features live performances by bands playing traditional German music. Rare Beers and Authentic Pairings

This year, beers from six of Germany’s leading breweries will be featured, including brands such as Paulaner, Hofbräu(Hofbrau), and Hacker-Pschorr. The main highlight is the exceptionally fresh draft German beer, delivered directly from these long-established breweries. In addition, visitors can choose from a wide selection of traditional lagers and wheat beers that are rarely available in Japan, as well as rare craft beers making their debut in Japan. A number of specialty German restaurants will also be serving dishes that faithfully recreate authentic German flavors. The selection includes hearty platters of traditionally prepared sausages, oversized pretzels, and Eisbein, a traditional German dish of braised pork knuckle. With these authentic pairings, visitors can enjoy a gourmet experience that feels like a journey through Germany. To ensure that non-drinkers and families can enjoy the festival as well, non-alcoholic beer imported directly from Germany and sweet pretzels will also be available.

At the festival, you can rent traditional German folk costumes: Dirndl (for women) and Lederhosen (for men). Wearing traditional attire allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the Oktoberfest atmosphere while creating fun opportunities to take photos of one another and exchange toasts. After enjoying the beer and food, visitors are also encouraged to join the live music performances on the festival's main stage. The whole venue comes alive with energetic performances, including moments when everyone joins together in a resounding “Prosit!” and when the audience sings along to the traditional toast song, Ein Prosit. This unique cultural experience, which beautifully combines views of the illuminated Tokyo Tower with the lively atmosphere of an authentic German Oktoberfest, is also highly popular with visitors from overseas.
